H.O.M.E.
Homeless Outreach Mobilization Effort (H.O.M.E.), specifically Nancy Kinkead, was referred to Kent First by Charlie Kothe, pastor of Lake Burien Presbyterian Church. Nancy was looking to replace a "host" church that was unable to house H.O.M.E. for the month of December. The session of Kent First was very excited at this mission opportunity and has provided the use of our building in December for the past three years.
H.O.M.E. is supported by Facility Churches who supply their church building every night from 9:00 pm to 7:00 am for a period of one month and Support Churches who provide volunteers, meals and financial support.
H.O.M.E. has formed an alliance with Catholic Community Services in Kent to provide screening services (the men MUST be free from all substance use) and full-time, on-site management. The men arrive at 9 pm, are fed dinner, make themselves a sandwich for the following day, unpack their bedding from the H.O.M.E. storage trailer and bed down for the night. In the morning the men repack the bedding and clean the facility - ready to depart by 7 am.
