Brad grew up in the mid-west and attended a
Presbyterian church as a child and youth. After high school he went to Ohio
University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with specialty in Ceramic
Engineering and has had a successful career in this engineering profession.
While living in Michigan and being an elder at a Presbyterian church someone planted a seed to consider a career in ministry. After prayerful deliberation Brad and his family took a leap of faith to begin seminary at San Francisco Theological Seminary where he graduate from in 2003.
Brad and his family live in Issaquah. Peggy, his wife, is a nurse mid-wife and works out of two clinics, one in Bellevue and the other in Issaquah. Brad and Peggy have two children, Spencer, age 15, and Amanda, age 10, who are part of our church community.
As our Youth Minister (7-12 hours per week) Brad’s responsibilities are:
Working with the Youth Group leaders and youth members to facilitate Kent First Youth Group Program
Write a yearly plan for Youth Group with leader and member input
Communicate with the congregation, session, and Nurture Division through writing reports, newsletter, email and special mailings
Coordinate themes and activities with Sunday evening activities.
Actively encourage new membership in the Youth Group, both inside and outside of church.
Aim for a Youth Mission Trip every two years; Coordinate planning, communication, and fund raising.
Encourage and train new leadership in congregation.
Intentionally weave opportunities for spiritual growth and Christian service into Youth Group activities.
